What is a Tithe? What is an Offering?
In the Bible, a tithe is 10% of one's income. An offering is when you give above and beyond your tithes, such as supporting other ministries and causes.
What does my gift support? Your gift enables HEC to fulfill its mission and vision to "Insert text here." It also supports the operations of the church and its ministries.
Will I receive a contribution statement for tax purposes?
HEC is a non-profit organization, and your gifts are tax-deductible. Your information must either be on your check or your envelope for us to keep accurate records for you. Each year, you can download your statement by logging into your myHEC account at the end of January. If you need to update your information, please log in to your account my HEC and go to Manage Giving Profiles or contact the church office so your statement will reach you.
Can I make a one-time or recurring donation?
Yes. The online system enables you to make either a one-time contribution or set-up a recurring gift scheduled to come out of your bank account at the time of the month specified by you.
Can I make changes to my scheduled donation?
You can edit or delete a scheduled contribution at any time. You can also change the debit/credit card, banking information used, date, frequency, or amount.
Are there any fees in online giving?
HEC pays a processing fee for all credit/debit card gifts made and a nominal fee for ACH gifts made. You do not pay any fees.
Is online giving secure?
We've taken steps to ensure that the giving process is safe and secure from beginning to end. All connections and storage use 256-bit SSL bank-level encryption. No card data is stored on myHEC server or Simple Donation but in Stripe's vault.
What is your privacy policy?
Your information will remain private and will never be shared, sold, or given away to third parties, other than to process your scheduled contributions and web initiated payments. The Simple Donation database system has taken steps to ensure that the payment process is safe and secure from beginning to end—all personal data secured by SSL encryption. SSL is an acronym for "Secure Socket Layer," a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet, which is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com.
What is your refund policy?
Contributions (Tithes/Offerings): Online contributions to Hebron Evangelical Church (HEC) are considered non-refundable; this is per Internal Revenue Codes. Ministry Event Payment/Registrations: The refund policies for specific events determined the nature of the refund. It is at the sole discretion of each ministry and HEC as to whether a refund gets granted. Please inquire before registration if the event or deposit is refundable.
Security and Encryption
All Data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from Simple Donation servers to your browser. The Data isn't encrypted while it's live in our database (since it needs to be ready to send to you when you need it), but we go to great lengths to secure your data at rest—you can read more about that on our security page.
